The Rhone-Barcelona aqueduct has been promoted since 1995 by
the French company BRL which has a French State concession to Rhone river water
rights until 2056. It envisages the construction of a ground pipe of 330 kms,
intended to transfer 15 m3/sec (1,300,000 m³/day) from Arles to Barcelona.
