The Montserrat cable car, inaugurated in 1930, is a fast way of
reaching Montserrat. With a length of 1,350 metres and an average speed of 5
metres per second, it takes just five minutes to climb the 550 metres to the
monastery, overcoming slopes of up to 45%, and on its way offering superb
panoramic views.
