A field investigation of the type of
volcanic activity and its relationship to the nature of the plate margin
together with the impact of landforms upon the landscape. Landforms studied
include volcanic craters, pyroclastic deposits, lava flows and tossols. A walk
through the volcanic landscape to the medieval village of Santa Pau forms one of
the highlights of the day.
