Transfer to Hotel Bel Air

The restaurant closes at 22.00. A cold buffet meal will be requested for arrival

Day 2

Collect packed lunches

09.30 Arrive  Llobregat Delta Nature Reserve

Sand dune vegetation succession, xerophytic adaptations and management

15.00 Return to hotel

Afternoon excursion to Barcelona if desired, followed by classroom follow-up

09.00 Depart for Garraf Natural Park.

Comparison of Biodiversity between three  zones with different fire histories:

Zone 1: Burnt July 2001

Zone 2: Burnt Summer 1996

Zone 3: No recent burning

Work to include vegetation and soil sampling

Ecostrimed Protocol: changes in a river's ecological status from source to mouth

• Comparison of sheltered and exposed shores (Llobregat delta).
• Comparison of ecosystem productivity in two contrasting  stone pine woodlands. (Garraf)
