Walks

We offer four risk-assessed low-level walks (of 1, 2 3 and 4 hour duration) suitable for school groups through a variety of stunning landscapes in the Garrotxa/Collsacabra area (2 hours from Barcelona).

typical walking scenery (and weather!): Collsacabra

The walks are planned following best practice (with landmarks, grid bearings and escape routes) and are suitable for those with little or no hill-walking experience.

The walks allow for large variations in student stamina and changes in altitude are minimal. The routes are either largely downhill or on the level.

It is essential that students come properly equipped (both for heat and sleet!) although weather conditions are usually far more predictable than in the British hills.

The walks follow popular routes along well signposted footpaths.

The walk leader has received mountain leadership training in North Wales.
