Mvuu Camp, Liwonde National Park
Mvuu Camp is located on the bank of the Shire river in Liwonde National Park. The Park has Malawi's greatest concentration of wildlife and is recognised as the country's premier game destination. Mvuu Camp stands within a group of large baobab trees, with Nile crocodiles lining the nearby river bank. Warthogs graze in the camp during the day, hippos by night, while elephants regularly come to drink on the opposite bank. Both the river and surrounding bush are rich in bird life. Chalets provide very comfortable accommodation, all en suite with a private balcony facing the river. A campsite is attached with mosquito proofed tents. Facilities include a swimming pool, dining room under thatch and gift shop.
The camp is part of the Wilderness Safaris ecotourism company that helps protect Africa's spectacular wildlife heritage and shares the benefits of tourism with local communities.
