We have maintained the pound-euro exchange rate that existed at
the time of first quote for all groups visiting us from the UK in 2008. We plan
to maintain this policy for 2009. If the pound appreciates against the euro, we
will invoice at the exchange rate that most favours the group - the exchange
rate at the time of the first quote, or the rate at the time of confirmation.
UK group exchange rate surcharge/refund policy: 6 January -
31st December 2009
The recent unprecedented falls in the pound sterling-euro
exchange rate followed by wild currency fluctuations in the first week of
January have required a review of our existing exchange rate policy shown above.
A temporary exchange rate surcharge (or refund) policy covering the period 6
January - 31st December 2009 will be introduced for new and existing bookings. A
surcharge or refund will be based on the difference between the exchange rate at
the time of booking and that prevailing a month before the arrival of the group
in Barcelona. We ask that groups pay 50% of any exchange rate loss - we
cover the other 50%. In the event of a strengthening of sterling against the
euro, a refund will be made based on the same 50/50 criteria. The introduction
of this policy is highly regrettable, and may cause late and unwanted requests
for additional funding from parents and significant extra work and inconvenience
for group organisers.
We reserve the right to change the above exchange rate policy
given exceptional circumstances.
Fuel supplement
There is no fuel supplement for 2009. However, we reserve the
right to add a fuel supplement given exceptional circumstances.
